This study entity is meant for people who aim for Bachelor Studies in nursing.

Study Path includes also language studies (English for Working Life for all, and Finnish 1 for non-Finnish speakers / Swedish for working life for Finnish students).

Price

Total 330 €:
- Instalment 1 (150 €) must be payed during enrollment
- Instalment 2 (180 €) can be payed during enrollment or can be envoiced (if invoiced, the invoicing fee will be 5 €)

As of 1 January 2020, courses at JAMK open UAS are free for unemployed jobseekers and asylum seekers. This is a trial that will last until the end of 2021. Therefore, enrolments made between January 1st 2020 and December 31st 2021 are free-of-charge.

Goal		The object of the course Upon completion of this course you know how to use information and communication technology with your studies. You have a basic knowledge of immaterial rights, information security, data privacy and their impact on your studies and work life. You can use the office software such as word processing, presentation graphics and spreadsheet calculating diversely. Business competence The learning objectives of the course You have basic knowledge of immaterial rights, information security, data privacy and their impact on your studies and work life. You can use the office software such as word processing, presentation graphics and spreadsheet calculating diversely.
Contents		Key functions of word processing software to enable drawing up of documents conforming to document standard and reports conforming to the JUAS reporting instructions. During the course you will complete the reporting template which you can then utilize later on in your other courses. Spreadsheet software key operations, most common functions and charts and their practical usage. Use of presentation graphics software and application of the skills to prepare a high-quality presentation. Controlling and editing the presentation by using the master slides. Basic concepts of immaterial rights, information security and data privacy and their significance. The course may also include on a degree program specific basis other key information technology sectors required for field-specific skills.
Accomplishment		Weekly tasks and learning assignments are in an e-learning environment and are carried out through office programs. Feedback is given as comments in the e-learning environment. Entrepreneurship

Goal		1. The students know the concept of internal entrepreneurship, what it means to become an entrepreneur and the significance of entrepreneurship and innovations in society. 2. The students understand the principles of profitable business activities and the business logic of their field. 3. The students understand the role of customership in business and other activities and know how to apply that knowledge to identify customers for their own know-how. 4. The students demonstrate an ability to manage themselves in an entrepreneurial way in a customer-oriented group. 5. The students know how to identify needs in customer-service situations and services and how to develop these into product opportunities (or business opportunities). 6. The students recognise and understand their own capacities and attitudes concerning entrepreneurship. 7. The students are aware of and capable of utilising the JAMK entrepreneurship and innovation environments and related support services.
Contents		Most of the entrepreneur section is completed in school-, department- or degree-programme-specific groups. During the course, students use their own experiences, observations and acquired knowledge to establish an understanding of individual market needs or demand for which they develop their own solution (product concept). In small groups, the students examine the business potential of their idea and share the ideas of their groups and their chances of success with the other students on the course. The ideas are tested with potential customers and further developed on the basis of the feedback received. The development and communication tools used are the Business Model Canvas and the Value Proposition Canvas. The students acquire basic information on entrepreneurship and profitable business in functional ways. The students test their capacity for entrepreneurship and expand their understanding of their field with real business cases.

Goal		Purpose This course will introduce you to evidence-based nursing and how to use it in decision-making in nursing. In addition, you will understand the responsibilities of your own professional role in evidence-based nursing. You will be able to retrieve information from key nursing databases, summarize research information, and apply evidence-based knowledge and ethical principles in nursing in your learning assignment. You can present your evidence-based nursing competence with your assignments. You know how to document nursing as required by law. Familiarize yourself with the nursing decision-making process.
