    Would you like to work as an authorized guide?
As a guide you´ll meet many interesting people and tourist groups. You´ll actively search information and update your knowledge about the area and its events. You are interested in local history, interaction and languages.

JAMK university of applied sciences organizes 12.3.-31.5.2018 the course “Guiding in practice” (6 credits) in co-operation with JAO, Suomen Opasliitto (Guide Association) and Jyväskylän Matkailuoppaat ry. Accomplished course leads to competency of an authorized guide.

Content:
1/3: History of Finland and Central Finland, special features of Central Finland and it´s attractions, theory of tourism and interaction skills. Visits to attractions. Safety.
1/3 Guiding in practice.
1/3 Studying independently the course material: books, articles, websites etc.

Tests, assignments and practical tasks will increase your skills.

After authorization a member guide of Jyväskylän Matkailuoppaat ry ( or some other local authorized guide association) has possibilities to earn some extra money via guiding.
Authorization fee 50€. Membership of the local guide association + Guide badge 18€ in Jyväskylä.
