Edeltävä osaaminen		The students have a command of the basic structures of English including the terminology of their own field of study and are aware of the register (discourse) required in academic writing.
Tavoite		The students are able to write a thesis and/or a thesis abstract independently using e.g. online dictionaries, thesaurus, and other writing aids.
Sisältö		The structures essential in academic writing, e.g. articles and transitional words, as well as other stylistic characteristics of the academic register. Composing a short thesis and/or abstract in appropriate academic English.
Toteutus		Self-study: completion of exercises related to the objectives as well as self and peer assessment in addition to feedback on student’s work from the instructor.
Kirjallisuus		Virtual learning environment with theory and materials, e.g. texts and/or video lectures on various topics.
