Tavoite

You will obtain tools to develop organisations in the changeable and highly international sport business environment. The focus of this programme is to enable you to extend your knowledge in the area of international sport business, create new business solutions to develop sport organisations and improve your personal skills and network in solving complex business problems within the sport industry.

Sport business management first year master`s studies.

Toteutus

The studies are designed as part-time programme. The study programme concists both on-campus and online learning methods.

On-campus days are planned to serve also students with full-time jobs. Lectures are held at JAMK’s campus in Jyväskylä.

Tavoite		Upon completion of this course a student will be able to: ¿ Apply key aspects of strategic management and marketing to manage or market a sport tourism organisation, activity or event. ¿ Design and manage global sport tourism events in a sustainable manner, leaving positive legacies and generating socio-economic development for host communities. ¿ Design instruments to generate positive image and brand reputation impacts for various stakeholders through sport tourism activities.
Sisältö		Sport tourism is a multi-billion-dollar global business and the fastest growing sector of the global travel and tourism industry. Comprising the largest segment of the sport tourism industry, sport events have become an increasingly important component of global tourism economies. Event tourism has emerged as one of the fastest growing components of the leisure market. This course aims to extend the students understanding of this academic niche discipline in both theoretical and applied relevance, with topics including those specified below as well as related themes: ¿ Sport tourism: people, places and activities ¿ Sport tourism development and environmental and social sustainability ¿ Designing and managing sustainable sport events ¿ Planning and managing legacies from sport tourism activities and events ¿ Bidding and hosting strategies for global sport tourism events ¿ Generating positive image and brand reputation through sport tourism activities ¿ Sport tourism niche markets: golf, adventure and extreme sport tourism ¿ Digitalisation and solutions for sustainable sport tourism
